1 person killed in crash on the GSP in Brick

The driver of a black Kia sedan has died after colliding with a dump truck on the Garden State Parkway in Brick Township Thursday morning, according to New Jersey State Police.

Authorities say the man was pronounced dead at the scene, but the victim's identification is being withheld, pending family notification. He was the only person in the vehicle.

Two people in the dump truck sustained minor injuries, according to police.

The accident happened around 2:55 a.m. and shut-down two lanes of the northbound Parkway for about three hours.

The cause remains under investigation.
