Doyle was sentenced in Freehold by Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Ronald Reisner. He'll be required to serve 85 percent of the term, or13 and a half years, under New Jersey's No Early Release Act, and serve three years' parole supervision on release, according to Acting County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni.

Doyle was 16 at the time the crimes took place. The victim survived but was hospitalized for several days.

According to investigators, the victim opened her door to trace the source of noise outside of her house. Doyle pushed into the dwelling, stabbed her repeatedly, took her car keys, and drove off, authorities said. The car was recovered in Aberdeen.

Gramiccioni's office said that Doyle admitted stabbing her with the intention of killing her before taking the car.
