A Bigger And Brighter Christmas Show
The Crazy Christmas Light Show returns this year with a promising to be larger, brighter and more elaborate than ever.
The event was started by Daniel Brateris, 26, of Lake Como, New Jersey along with friends to try to make Christmas feel special and festive.
“That’s one of the reasons we started it,” he said, “it kinda made christmas feel magical and stuff to us again.”
The two day event consists of a 15 minute spectacular Christmas light show followed by music and holiday fun. It will be held at the Epp residence, which is located at 2702 Woolley Road in Wall on Friday December 9th and Saturday December 10th.
“It’s very a wholesome night. There’s tons of people there. Everyone’s having a good time. You can really feel the Christmas spirit in the night when you’re there.”
While the original goal was to spread holiday cheer, the organizers saw attendance growing and decided that they might also be able to help people at the same time. They began selecting a featured charity to raise money for during the event. The show is free with donations being accepted during the event.
“We wanted people to be able to show their appreciation and do something good with that money that stays local,” said Brateris, “and benefits people who need it and benefits a good cause that supports the needs of children.”
Last year’s featured charity was Team Leo, which received close to $6000 in donations. This year’s organization being recognized is Challenged Youth Sports, which sponsors sports programs and builds facilities for handicapped children.
The Crazy Christmas Light Show has no cost attached to it, nor does the charity.
“The event is fully funded and the charity is fully funded,” Brateris explained, “so every penny of the donation goes right to their work.”
Bill Epp and his family provide their home, and cover expenses to help facilitate this process.
