Police say the African American male suspects, armed with possibly long-barreled guns, dressed in black, with scarfs covering their faces, forced their way into the home around 8:20 p.m. Thursday night. The suspects then bound and gagged the homeowner and ransacked the home.

However, A 10-year-old child, who was in the house, was able to escape unnoticed and called police from a neighbor's house.

In addition to the homeowner, police found a second child in the home when they arrived but said none of the occupants sustained injuries.

Police from Wall, Point Pleasant and Brielle then began an extensive search of the area using K-9 teams and found suspect Ishawn David Redd from Neptune lying on the ground in the backyard of a home on Main Avenue.  He was arrested and charged with Defiant Trespass and Hindering Apprehension. Police later determined that Redd was not involved in the home invasion on Montclair Drive.

The investigation is ongoing and police are especially looking for proceeds or evidence, including clothing, in the neighborhood. They're asking residents who come across anything suspicious, to not touch the items and call police at  732-262-1100.
