In recent weeks, the Long Branch Democrat has highlighted Asbury Park redevelopment in calling for expansion of the federal Brownfields grant progrram. He has argued in favor of President Obama's request for funding to research and contain the spread of Zika virus.

Back in June, Pallone and Democratic colleagues in the House staged a sit-in in an attempt to force a vote on tighter gun restrictions.

In just a few days, Pallone plans to celebrate the centennial of the National Park Service with a visit to Sandy Hook, where he's firmly against the Service's plan to raise parking and camping fees at Gateway National Recreation Area.

Pallone seeks re-election this November, challenged by Republican Brent Sonnek-Schmelz and Libertarian Judi Shamy.
