I think we learned a lot from Sandy: what to have in case of emergency, a route of evacuation and not to poo poo what the forecasters are predicting, but what I'm talking about here goes year round: local flooding.
Think about this for one minute: the alarm rings, it's time to get up and go to work. We wash, brush our teeth, get dressed, maybe have a bite to eat, say 'see ya later' to our loved ones, grab our stuff and out the door we go.
Being brought up in an Italian household, one thing you learn early is 'never visit without bringing food', so when I had my cooking class last week at Bey Lea Rehablitition and Nursing Center, I was by no means surprised when listener friend Loretta showed up with a couple of dishes of which I HAVE to share.
I've put this off as long as I could, but I can't anymore: I'm miserable. I'm getting crankier and crankier. I wake up every morning thinking 'what am I going to do, I can't go on like this'. The only way I'm going to be happy and satisfied is (and as much as I really don't want to I have to) I can't put it off any longer: I need to start 'sleeping around'!
