According to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office, investigators and West Deptford police are working to determine the cause of the two blazes, which occurred a few days apart in a dwelling on Mansion Avenue.

The first fire took place on the evening of Oct. 30 and was brought under control quickly.

The second blaze, on Nov. 7, also took place in the evening hours and was extinguished quickly by fire crews. However, authorities say blood was found at the scene.

"A substantial amount of blood was found at the scene, raising the possibility that the unknown suspect was injured and required treatment," the press release stated.

Neither fire led to the complete destruction of the vacant dwelling.

"The damage did not result in a total loss of the house," the prosecutor's office stated.

Anyone with information about the fires is asked to contact Det. John Petroski at 856-224-8227 or Col. John Craig of the West Deptford PD at 853-4599, ext. 170. Anonymous tips to the GCPO can be transmitted by texting  GlOTIP & your message to CRIMES (274637).
