I woke up in a cold sweat this morning having had a horrific nightmare.

I dreamt that Alfonso Soriano homered in each of the Yankees final 45 games of the regular season and his 9th inning home run in Houston on September 28th allowed the Bronx Bombers to overtake Oakland and clinch the second Wild Card playoff spot.

It was just about that time I woke up and realized it was a dream…or was it?  I mean Soriano has hit two home runs in each of the last two games and all of a sudden the lethargic Yankees are showing signs of life.  I’m afraid to go to sleep tonight. What’s next? A 20-game winning streak for the Phillies?

All kidding aside, yesterday I talked about the tough times for Cincinnati Reds third baseman Todd Frazier of Toms River.  Well a day later things are looking up as Frazier went 2-4, drove in two runs and scored two in a 5-0 win over the Cubs.

Included in that performance was his11th home run of the season and first since July 2nd.  Maybe my words were prophetic when I said….here’s hoping a hot streak is coming.

Have you paid close attention to all the disclaimers that come with many of the prescription drugs being advertised on TV for everything from stress relief and arthritis to lowering your cholesterol and raising your testosterone?  In the same commercial they’ll show people living the good life, like being on vacation, dancing and laughing and then they’ll hit you with the possible side effects.   Chest pain, bone pain, kidney and liver damage, stomach problems, dry mouth, constipation, diarrhea, excessive bleeding and my personal favorites, suicide and death.

And then of course there are those heartwarming commercials for men with sexual performance issues.  I’m still looking for that mountain with the two bathtubs.

For those who are wondering what happened to summer don’t worry.  It’s coming soon and remember: stay thirsty my friends.
