Naval Weapons Station Earle and all commands in the region are taking part in HURREX/CITADEL GALE 15, April 20 through May 1.

The drill ensures that Earle is ready to respond to coastal weather threats and can deploy forces regardless of weather severity, according to information from base officials.

The exercise simulates two storm systems reaching hurricane strength and tearing a hypothetical path through the Caribbean, Gulf Coast and East Coast.

No Navy ship movements are connected to the drill, Navy officials said.
