The agency immediately sent out a tweet, describing the incident as a trespasser fatality near the Elberon station.

According to supplemental details from NJT, an adult male entered the Brighton Avenue grade crossing just west of the Long Branch station, where the train made impact at about 12:30 PM.

The North Jersey Coast Line train Number 4335 had left New York City at 10:41 AM, with a scheduled arrival in Bay Head at 1:08 PM.
