Judge Linda Baxter ordered him to serve at least 85 percent of the term, or 12 years, nine months, before parole consideration, under the state's No Early Release law.

Patriaco pleaded guilty to a first-degree robbery charge on June 19 of this year for the knifepoint holdup that took place September 1, 2014, at KD Automotive on Burnt Tavern Road.

According to investigators, Patriaco grabbed money from the hands of attendant Charanjee Singh as he counted it, then stabbed Singh when the attendant tried to take the cash back. Patrico ran and Singh was hospitalized for injuries to his upper abdomen and chest, investigators said. Singh recovered after surgery.
