Hasan Kamil, 27, and Alicia Acevedo, 28, are charged along with Christopher Lanza, 39, of Toms River, according to township police, following a search of a house on Bethany Road.

The probe, conducted by Brick's Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) evolved over several months, focusing on heroin distribution in the vicinity, police said.

DEU and the township's Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) searched the house late in the afternoon of July 21, recovering 933 wax folds, Subutex and Alprazolam tablets, and $543 believed to be drug proceeds, police said.

Kamil and Acevedo each face five possession and distribution-related counts. He was placed in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, with bail set at a full $75,000. She was released on a summons. Lanza was released to await court hearings on two possession charges.

Criminal charges are accusations. Defendants are considered innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
