Brick Township teen’s unnerving encounter has police on alert
A gray-haired man in a black Cadillac is wanted for questioning in Brick Township after a suspicious encounter reported by a teen-aged girl.
According to police, the 17-year-old reported being accosted Wednesday afternoon, about 12:35 PM, while walking home from a bus stop at Silverton Road and Linden Avenue.
She told police that the driver asked her if she needed a ride, and when she declined the offer, asked if she was sure she didn't need one.
At that point, police said, she spotted a neighbor outside his house and told the driver that the neighbor was her uncle. The Caddy man then drove off toward Hooper Avenue.
The teen described him as a white male, appearing to be in his late 50s or early 60s, average weight, with a full head of gray hair and "pock marks all over his face."
The only description she could summon of the car was a black Cadillac sedan, possibly 2005 or newer model year, with New Jersey license plates.
Detective Tara Schindler is investigating, and can be reached at 732-262-1100.
