Car burglary suspect charged in two Monmouth towns
The suspect in a car-burglary spree in Monmouth's Ocean Township allegedly scooped up some credit cards, and tried using at least one in Neptune Township, according to police - so now he faces charges in both municipalities.
Anthony Dalia, 30, of Asbury Park, faces three counts of burglary, criminal attempt burglary, two counts of theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, idenitity theft and forgery for the overnight looting spree on February 21. He was apprehended Thursday evening in the Wanamassa section.
Police said that numerous unlocked cars were relieved of cash, loose change, personal items and charge cards, and that bogus charges subsequently appeared for purchases in Neptune.
Dalia was transferred to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold. His bail was set at $7,500 in Ocean Township and $35,000 in Neptune Township, both with an option for release on payment of 10 percent.
