A driver whose sport utility vehicle rammed a concrete divider and turned over on Hooper Avenue in Toms River after midnight escapes with minor injuries, according to township police.

Details are sparse, but police said that Michael Rosario was moving southbound on the county road in the vicinity of 1:30 AM. The 2001 Mitsubishi Montero veered out of control at Edken, hit the divider and a light stanchion, and tipped.

Rosario was not using a seat belt but managed to emerge with minor injuries, police said. He was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

Not yet known are Rosario's age or hometown, possible contributing factors such as lighting, road obstructions, driver's condition, results of any further investigation, status of any possible citations,or the relative frequency of collisions on that section of Hooper. Roads and weather were dry.
