It's easy to choose an independent restaurant over a chain if given the choice, but when it comes to coffee, people seem to head to the big names they know.

This local coffeehouse is worth taking a chance on.

At Asbury Park Roastery, not only can you try several varieties of coffee from around the globe, you can also get different kinds of freshly brewed tea, espresso-based drinks, baked goodies, and lots of fun accessories like gift sets and mugs to keep for yourself or give as gifts.

They sell fresh whole beans, loose leaf tea, a cup of French press coffee, iced hibiscus tea(so good!), and lots of other amazing treats to delight your taste buds.

Plus, the owner, Alli Kennedy, is one of the nicest people I've ever met.

Asbury Park Roastery is located on 803 Second Ave. in Asbury Park, between Main St./Rt. 71 and Memorial Dr., open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m - 3 p.m., weekends 7:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. There is a second smaller location within Asbury Park's Convention Hall, open weekends 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Stop in for a cup of really great coffee and a snack. You might just find your new comfort zone!
