Chabad zoning application meeting postponed in Toms River

The Toms River Board of Adjustment's special meeting to address the application by Chabad Jewish Center, originally scheduled for Thursday evening, February 18, will be rescheduled for a later date.

The center seeks a variance to create a Jewish education and community center on its property in a residential section of the township's North Dover section.

A terse release cited the cancellation, for personal reasons, by the applicant's request.

Thousands reportedly had turned out for the previous meetings, which were held at Toms River High School North instead of the Municipal Building, for space purposes.

Tthe Zoning Board will set a new date to review the application at its next regularly-scheduled meeting, February 25.
