"It's not happening," Christie bluntly told HuffPost Live host Jacob Soboroff at the Points of Light Conference on Volunteering And Service in Washington. The Governor said the New Jersey Supreme Court's decision to uphold the October 16 date of the election, just weeks before Election Day and the vote on the Governor's race, signaled the "end of the subject."

He said any bills voted upon by the legislature to change the date face a certain veto. He pointed out the framers of the state Constitution don't want federal issues to affect state issues and believes his decision is consistent with that stance. "I'm not changing my mind," he said.
