Church wallet thief sought in Howell
A wallet stolen in a Howell Township church has saddled the owner with a slew of unauthorized credit card charges. Police now believe they have a bead on the suspect, and they're looking for your help to identify him.
According to authorities, the man in this surveillance image entered St. William the Abbot Church on Lakewood-Allenwood Road at about 6 PM on Thursday, May 14 and dipped into a woman's purse for the wallet.
Her credit cards began registering charges at Target, Wal-Mart, BJ's, Gulf gasoline, and Wawa.
The church hosted several activities simultaneously that afternoon and evening, with a considerable number of people moving through, police said.
