Two female jet skiers are safe after having to be rescued by the Coast Guard Sunday afternoon near Brigantine.

The women ran aground in marshlands around 1:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Coast Guard. A MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City responded.

A rescue swimmer was lowered to the women and hoisted them to safety. Both women declined medical assistance and were picked up by a family member.
