A severely-burned victim 's struggle for life since last Friday's Eatontown aparment fire is over.

Brenda Taylor, 69, died Monday afternoon at St. Barnabas Burn Center in Livingston, according to information from the office of acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Grammiccioni. Officials did not release her identity.

A 78-year-old dweller in the Garrison Apartments on Throckmorton Street remains in stable condition at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, authorities said. Seven others, including two firefighters, also were injured.

Investigators determined that the blaze stemmed from an electrical baseboard heater in the bedroom of Apartment 302, where flames and smoke poured from windows and Taylor was found unresponsive, authorities said. She was first rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

The fire, which triggered response by Eatontown police and firefighters at 12:37 AM, also drew support crews from West Long Branch, Oceanport, Shrewsbury, Neptune Township and Tinton Falls.
