How do you feel?  If the answer to that question is crummy, your allergies could be to blame.

One day it's 60 degrees.  The next is 75.  The muggy, humid weather this Fall is creating havoc on many people around the state.  Fall 2012, up to this point, has felt more like an Indian Summer than anything.

When the thermometer goes up and down 10 to 15 to 20 degrees on a dime, it can lead to the coughing, the sneezing and the watery eyes.  Recent rain has made it damp out there.  What's tricky is deciphering whether you have an allergy attack, a cold or the flu.

Leslie Terjesen with the Ocean County Health Department says "The allergy skin test is the quickest and most accurate way to find out what you are allergic to, whether it's mold, grass pollen, or a type of weed.  A lot of the allergens that appear in the Fall are leftovers from the Spring.  We see all different types of cases."

In regards to the flu, Terjesen says "everyone should get a flu shot.  Those symptoms may mimic the allergy attacks but will also come with a fever, headache and chills - something you won't get with allergies."

Terjesen's advice?  If your symptoms persist, make an appointment with your doctor who could properly diagnose you.
