Fire Destroys Lakewood Home [VIDEO]

A massive blaze destroys a home in Lakewood Township.

It took 65 firefighters from several departments to get the flames out last night on Glen Avenue South. No one was injured. But the home appears to be a total loss.

“They lost everything”, a firefighter who battled the blaze told TheLakewoodScoop.com. “The fire had a good head start on us,’’  Assistant Fire Chief Steve McNamara told the Asbury Park Press. “There was a lot of ‘fuel’ for the fire in the house because of its construction, such as vinyl siding,’’ he said.

The owner of the home and her children were home when the fire started around 6:30PM reports the Asbury Park Press.

The cause is under investigation.
