Football Season Is Here; See You In February
The following is a letter that any guy can feel free to use. Customize to fit your needs.
Dear My Lovely Wife or Girlfriend (make sure you fill in the name),
I’m so glad we’ve been able to spend some quality time together over the past few months. Those nice dinners, movie dates, relaxing days at the beach and of course my favorite….the weekend getaways in which it was just you and I. (If you have kids you might have to work them into this a bit).
Even the simplest moments we shared were special and I didn’t even mind those shopping trips in which I often just sat on a chair while you went through the racks. By the way have I told you how great you look in black? There is no doubt we were meant to be together and you are the soul mate I always dreamed of having. I can’t wait for us to spend more time together starting in February.
Honey, sweetie, lover, friend…in case I forgot to mention it football season starts tonight so until it ends after the Super Bowl I would really appreciate it if you didn’t make any plans that include me. I will get to those projects you asked about and I know about the monthly get togethers with the neighbors but just remember you’ll need to be flexible because I’m can’t.
Tonight it’s the Ravens and Broncos. Remember that great playoff game they had in January? I have to watch it because I have three players in my two fantasy leagues involved. Of course the real opening day is Sunday with the Jets in the afternoon, the Giants at night and the Red Zone channel all day long. There is nothing like that Scott Hansen guy if you’re a fantasy player as they show all the touchdowns.
Then the Eagles play as part of a Monday Night doubleheader…what a weekend.
Of course I will be doing this every weekend and you know how much I love the college games on Saturday although I will try and squeeze in some time for you (and the kids if appropriate). The important thing is for you to know that football is a distant second to my love for you and I promise they as soon as the Super Bowl is over I will be yours…except for that “March Madness” period.
Thanks for your understanding and can you remember to pick up the chips and salsa for Sunday? A few of the guys are coming over.
