Freehold child porn defendant pleads guilty, faces up to 10 years

Admitting that he spread child pornography through several electronic means likely means five to 10 years in prison for a defendant from Freehold.

Daniel Deluca, 23, pleaded guilty Thursday in Monmouth County Superior Court in Freehold, according to the office of County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni. Sentencing is scheduled for January 13, 2017.

Deluca was originally charged on January 14, 2014. He told the court that he sent e-mail and texts containing salacious images, and also used the Kik social media messenger.

His arrest sprang from a CyberTip that the Prosecutor's Office received, indicating that two videow were sent through AOL Instant Messenger from an IP address traced to Deluca's house.

Investigators, equpped with a search warrant, found the videos on Deluca's computer, authorities said, with more discovered on his PC, cell phone and his cloud storage content.

Prosecutors recommend an aggregate 10-year sentence, five without parole eligibility, for his guilty pleas to three counts of endangering the welfare of a child through distribution of child pornography.

Deluca would also register as a sex offender under Megan's Law, and be subject to parole supervision for life.
