Gas Prices Up In NJ: Drivers Brace For More Pain At Pump [POLL]

Gas prices have skyrocketed in New Jersey since January, up 25 cents per gallon at $3.53 and experts say we could reach a record $4.25 a gallon by spring.

New Jersey motorists are bracing for more pain at the pump.

Tim from Old Bridge was filling up on his way to a construction job. “I’m heading down to Atlantic City and these prices are killing me, we have big trucks hauling stuff around and its affecting our bottom line, definitely.”

Gas prices have never been higher this time of year. You can blame it in part on the mild temperatures, as refineries crank up more production of warm-weather fuel.

Analysts say financial problems in Greece and the Middle East could cause additional gas price spikes.

“I’m going to have to think about working from home more and taking less road trips” said a woman from Manchester.

In 2011, gas prices peaked in early May when the average price was $3.88 per gallon.

“I’m only putting in $20 because that’s all I can afford right now” said Kelly from Toms River.
