Helpful Hints – Treating A Bee Sting

We hope you don't get stung by a bee, but if you do please use these Helpful Hints:

• Honeybees leave stingers, wasps and yellow-jackets do not
• If a honeybee stings you: extract stinger as soon as possible; DO NOT pinch stinger, scrape it to the side with a credit card or other flat edge
• Medicate with benadryl; use cold pack and/or hydrocortisone cream
• If child is stung, distract them to avoid thinking about the pain
