Genarro Scognamiglio, 30, was placed in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) in Freehold following his arrest last Tuesday, according to information on the Monmouth County Police, Fire & EMS Facebook page. His bail was set at $20,000, with no option for release on payment of 10 percent.

He's charged with resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and emergency medical personnel.

Authorities offered no details regarding why Scognamiglio was in the ambulance, saying only that he pushed an officer in the chest and punched an EMS worker in the stomach, then tried to thwart efforts to handcuff him.
