HOBOKEN — NJ Transit service on Saturday and Sunday will be close to normal even as Hoboken Terminal remains closed following Thursday's fatal crash.

The main Bergen and Pascack Valley lines will operate on a normal weekend schedule that will start and end in Secaucus.

The Montclair-Boonton Line will also have normal service that will begin and end at Newark Broad Street. Buses will run every 30 minutes to take passengers to Liberty State Park, where they can take the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail to Jersey City and Hoboken.

Meadowlands train service will operate between Secaucus and Meadowlands on Saturday and Sunday.

NJ Transit will offer extra service on the 126 line between Hoboken and Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York.

PATH, ferries, NJ Transit bus and private carriers will continue to cross-honor rail tickets throughout the weekend.

NJ Transit warns that riders can expect overcrowding and some delays all weekend.

PATH will offer regular weekend service between Newark and World Trade Center and Journal Square and Hoboken. Special weekend train service will operate directly between Hoboken and World Trade Center. However, PATH will continue with its suspension of service to the to 33rd Street and Sixth Avenue stations as installation of positive train control equipment continues.

The National Transportation Safety Board continues its investigation into Thursday morning's crash which killed a mother standing on the platform and injured more than 100 more people.

NTSB Vice Chairwoman T. Bella Dinh-Zarr said investigators have been “in touch” with the engineer, who was released from the hospital the evening after the crash, but “unfortunately, as you may know, he was injured, so we’re scheduling the interview with him.”
