Thomas Genovese was apprehended Wednesday at his Rutgers Road home by high-tech crime investigators of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and by Jackson Police.

“This is another example of a cooperative investigation involving the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and local law enforcement,” said County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford in a statement.

Authorities say the information was substantial enough to merit a court-authorized search warrant of his house.

Genovese faces a count each of child pornography possession and distribution. He was jailed at the Ocean County lockup in Toms River in default of $75,000 bail. He’s ordered to have no contact with children.

The investigation is still open. Anyone with information that can help the probe can call Detective James Hill at the County Prosecutor’s office: 732-929-2027.
