The immediate Jersey Shore was affected by flooding Monday morning, though a storm just grazing the Garden State wasn't causing flooding problems elsewhere.

A coastal flood warning is in effect through Tuesday afternoon for the entire coast. Moderate coastal flooding could be seen during high tide on Monday night around 7 p.m. and again at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Wave heights are expected to build to 8-12 feet.

Widespread moderate coastal flooding usually causes some water inundation along tidal waterways," meteorologist Dan Zarrow said. "High tide will probably be about 2 to 3 feet above the 'normal' predicted tide for Monday evening and again Tuesday morning. The biggest impact from moderate coastal flooding is generally closed roads, as 'the usual places' flood."

During Monday morning's high tide, Route 35 was closed for sections in Belmar and Brielle, as were Route 40 in Atlatntic City and Pleasantville and Route 47 in Wildwood.

North Wildwood Mayor Patrick Rosenello, whose town was flooded during the January blizzard said it's "not too bad" with "normal" tidal flooding after Monday morning's high tide.
