Jon Bon Jovi records music videos at Camden High School

CAMDEN — Jon Bon Jovi was in this city on Friday recording two music videos.

The Sayreville native, whose band is coming out with an album Nov. 4, used Camden High School's gymnasium, six classrooms and a crew of security guards for the production, the Courier-Post reported. School was not in session and the production company paid more than $3,000 for the privilege.

The session seems to have gone better than when another Jersey recording artist used a high school for scenes in a music video.

Paterson native Fetty Wap caused a ruckus after officials at his alma mater allowed to him to record a music video for a song featuring drug references and scantily clad women. The principal was suspended and Fetty Wap, real name Willie J. Maxwell II, apologized to the community.

Bon Jovi's videos at Camden High were more about the rocker's philanthropic work in the embattled urban center. His nonprofit Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation opened a shelter in the city in 2014. He received an honorary degree from Rutgers-Camden in 2015.

Apparantly, however, Bon Jovi still is not good enough for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which snubbed him again this year.
