Sunday car burglaries in Jackson lead to charges filed against a minor and pending against an 18-year-old.

According to police, residents in the vicinity of Bates Road and Bennetts Mills Road spotted the juvenile and the older teen behaving suspiciously at about 3:51 AM on August 7, and held them until investigators arrived.

The pair had electronic equipment, cash and other items taken from nearby vehicles, police said. Both were processed at headquarters.

The same day, at 12:24 PM, a visitor staying overnight at a house on Plasner Court told police that his unlocked car had been looted of items valued at about $90. The victim also turned over an iPad he found lying in grass nearby, police said.

The adolescent is charged with motor vehicle burglary and theft and awaits proccedings in Family Court. Charges remain pending against the 18-year-old while the probe remains open.
