Lakewood Pedestrian Seriously Injured By Hit And Run Driver.

A pedestrian was seriously injured In Lakewood after being struck  by a hit and run driver . around 10 p.m. last night.

Witnesses tell the Lakewood Scoop that the pedestrian, a member of the Lakewood Chaveirim and Hatzolah, was getting into his vehicle parked on the side of Somerset Ave. when he was struck.

The vehicle which struck him fled the scene. Hatzolah and EMS responded to the scene and found the victim semi-conscious. Hatzolah transported the victim to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with several serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

Police temporarily closed Somerset Ave. between East 7th Street and County Line Road, while investigating the incident. Lakewood's Traffic and Safety Division  and the Prosecutor's Office are investigating.
