Police and firefighters pulled a 26-year-old man from the water after he fell off the jetty Monday night.

Manasquan fire chief Ed Hill told NJ Advance Media the victim cut his head and may have suffered neck and back injuries.

The call was reported around 7:15 and took more than an hour because the victim was at the tip of the south jetty, according to NJ Advance Media.

The man was pulled from the water and lifted up about 15 feet onto the jettty. NJ Advance Media reports once first-responders stabilized him, about 30 police, firefighters, and first aide personnel lifted him hand-over-hand above the rocks to a waiting ambulance.

The victim was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

On Oct. 4, the United States Coast Guard hoisted a man from the Manasquan Inlet to safety after his jet ski crashed into the jetty during the massive nor'easter.
