Manahawkin man accused of long-term sex with teen
Allegations of trysts with a young teen that continued for four years land a Manahawkin man in the Ocean County Jail.
Stafford police charged James Vitacco, 55, with endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated criminal sexual contact. He was arrested October 22.
According to investigators, Vitacco had repeated relations with the girl while she lived in Manahawkin, from age 13 until age 17.
Police offered no insight into the number, locations or circumstances of the alleged assaults, the nature of the relationship, or conditions that prompt a charge of aggravated criminal sexual contact.
Second-degree charges are punishable by five to 10 years in prison on conviction. Ocean County Judge Rochell Gizinski in Toms River set bail at $100,000.
