Marianne’s Duct Tape Encounter
I had an incident this past weekend that got me to thinkin’ …This is how it transpired…
Our dining room is connected to our kitchen – the dining room is carpeted and the kitchen is tiled. Well, I also have little puppies and little puppies like to chew – and they ripped the border. I was walking into the kitchen and yelled “OW “! My granddaughter Gia asked what happened and I told her I think I stepped on a nail, so she said “Don’t worry Gram I’ll take care of it”!
I went upstairs and about a half hour later I came back and YUP she’s taken care of it! She went around the whole border and covered it with DUCT TAPE – my first reaction in my mind was OMG !! How tacky is this!? She was so proud of what she did I didn’t have the heart to say it to her face though. Well I guess she read me pretty good because all of a sudden her expression changed and she goes “step on it Gram you can’t feel anything”! I did and I didn’t feel anything …and you know what?? as bad as it looks I’m not tearing it out because every time I see that Ugly Tacky piece of Silver Tape that’s dividing my kitchen into my dining room I’m going to think of my little 11 year old granddaughter who I love more than life itself with a heart of gold, a face that can melt chocolate and remember that day for the rest of my life!!!
And THAT’s how memories are made!!!!
