According to a video posted on the LakewoodScoop.com,  minister Steve Brigham told the last Township Committee meeting he's saving the town about a million a year, calculating the amount a hotel stay would cost for 80 or so residents for a year.

On the video Brigham says he is "sacrificing for the cause, because there’s no shelter in Ocean County, and instead of getting praise for saving them a million dollars, I get grief.”

The Township and Brigham continue to be at odds over the terms of an agreement that will lead to Tent City being dismantled within the next year. Residents complained to the Committee that the encampment is accepting new residents which the agreement forbids.
