Minor injuries reported in Manchester crash

Two cars are mangled in a grisly Monday crash on Route 571 in Manchester, but the drivers miraculously emerge with minor injuries at worst, according to township police.

The collision occurred just after 5 PM in the Ridgeway section, where the highway intersects with Route 547.

Ingyu Ru, 47, of Princeton Junction, on the northbound side of 571, was negotiating a left turn across oncoming traffic to reach 547. His 2013 Lexus GS sport utility vehicle collided with a 2011 Jeep Wrangler heading south, driven by James Satterlee, 29,of Howell Township, police said.

On impact, Satterlee's Jeep flipped over and came to rest on its passenger side on the southbound side of Route 547, police said.

Both drivers were secured by seat restraints. Satterlee sustained minor face lacerations and refused medical attention, and Ru reported no injuries, police said.. The crash remains under investigation, though no charges have emerged for either driver.

Ridgeway volunteer firefighters, Manchester first-aiders and MONOC paramedics assisted.
