Missing Barnagat Man Triggers Silver Alert

Barnegat Police are seeking the public's help in locating a missing township resident.

The resident is identified as 77-year-old Werner Dirr of East Bay Avenue who officials say suffers from the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease.

Dirr was last seen when he left his residence at 12 noon Tuesday driving a green 2004 Kia Sedona with New Jersey license plate number YLJ63T. Police say he was wearing a green plaid jacket, blue plaid shirt, khaki pants, brown leather shoes and a gray baseball cap. He was also wearing glasses.
