Reeves, 32, with a last known address on Center Street in Lakewood, was aware that he was wanted, and appeared at about 8:30 AM at the Ocean County Public Defender's Office in Toms River, according to information from the office of County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato. He was placed in the Ocean County Jail, in custody of the U.S. Marshal's Office.

Hassan Parker, 32, of South Toms River, died early on June 23 at Monmouth Medical Center's southern campus in Lakewood. Investigators called to the spot where his car had slammed a utility pole around 11:20 PM the previous night found him behind the wheel with a gaping chest wound.

Detectives determined that Parker was stabbed a matter of minutes before the crash, while seated in the car in the parking lot of the Martin Luther King Jr. apartment complex. They believe that Reeves wielded the weapon.

Authorities offered neither information nor speculation of Reeves's whereabouts since the search began, his reasons for surrendering. His bail was set at $1,000,000, with no option for release on payment of 10 percent.
