A funeral takes place Monday for Tamara Seidle, 51, at Holy Spirit Church of Asbury Park, the church where she was the religious education coordinator and a Eucharistic minister. She will be buried at the Mt. Calvary Cemetary in Neptune.

Many remembered Seidle at her wake on Sunday night at the church. "She cared so much about the community, especially the youth," one of her former CCD students told NJ.com. "It's so tragic."

According to her obituary, Seidle was born in Germany  and moved with her family to Neptune in 1970. She was a graduate of Neptune High School and was voted Homecoming Princess several times. She was a breast cancer survivor and a licensed soccer coach who hoped to start her own team.

The Church is requesting that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Church of Mother of Mercy/Seidle Family Fund. "100% of the donations will go toward the funeral and burial expenses of Tamara Wilson-Seidle and the care and education of the Seidle children" according to a statement on the church website.

Seidle's former husband, Neptune Township Sgt. Phillip Seidle, faces murder, weapons and child endangerment charges in his wife's death. She was shot and killed in her car Tuesday morning after authorities say her former husband chased her with their 7-year-old daughter in his car.
