Officer Martin A. Julian's assignment is described on the Lacey Township Police Facebook page as a lateral transfer from the Sheriff's Office, where he spent three years honing his skills.

Julian holds the rank of Staff Sergeant with the New Jersey Army National Guard, and served during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In Ocean County, he was a warrants detective and a member of the county regional SWAT team's sniper platoon.

After completing departmental training, Julian will serve as a uniformed patrol officer, police said.
