Some notes and rants with one having nothing to do with the other.

So what lasted longer: the Yankees celebration last week when they clinched a Wild Card playoff spot or the 3 hours and 4 minutes of postseason play they gave their fans?  The season is over for the guys in pinstripes because they never figured out a way to score any runs off of a Houston pitcher by the name of Dallas.

50,000 plus Yankee fans began Tuesday night with frenzied cheers and when the night was over were reduced to boos following a 3-0 loss to the Astros in the one-game American League Wild Card.  Ballgame over, season over.

So the woman who said she was assaulted by Rutgers star football player Leonte Carroo now says she won’t testify and there is no longer any reason for a temporary restraining order so on Tuesday simple assault charges were dropped and the order was lifted in two separate courtrooms. That should pave the way for Carroo to return to the Scarlet Knights and the ball is now in the court of head coach Kyle Flood who should reinstate him immediately and allow him to play Saturday night against 4th ranked Michigan State.

As I get older I understand road rage more and more each day.  I’ll leave it at that for now.

I think Matthew McConaughey is pretty cool but I don’t get him and those Lincoln commercials.  However sales are supposedly way up since he became the face of the franchise so who am I to question.

I can’t believe I got hooked on the TV Show “Empire.”  Clearly a 59-year old white, non-hip-hop music fan is not the core demo but the show is rather fascinating. And yes I like Cookie too.

Believe it or not the NHL season begins tonight.  That’s the National Hockey League for those who don’t know.  My New York Rangers open the season in Chicago tonight against the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks.  If you’re not a fan don’t worry. It will be over in mid-June.

No matter what the Mets postseason will last longer than the Yankees. That’s good enough for now.
