That's the word from a library spokesman who says that a leak damaged part of the interior ceiling. Information from library officials said that the branch was due for closure for roof maintenance in the near future.

However, inspectors found interior damage and advised closing the branch. The doors were closed in the middle of the day, and notice was sent out about two hours later.

Patrons with books to collect or return are being directed to the Stafford Township branch, closest in proximity but a drive in from the Island over the Barnegat Bay Bridge.

Besides LBI and Stafford, the Library has 19 other branches and access to materials at its web page.
