Pedestrian Struck In Barnegat

A female pedestrian is airlifted to a trauma center after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Route 9 in Barnegat.Police say 34-year-old township resident Jane Maydish was not using a crosswalk when she was struck early Wednesday evening near Union Boulevard.

Maydish suffered leg and head injuries and airlifted to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City by MONOC Helicopter.

Lieutenant Keith Germain says the driver of the vehicle was not issued any summonses, and no charges are pending.
