Gloucester Township Police are still looking for missing Blackwood woman Carol Reiff but the recent discovery of a body in the area foreshadows an unhappy ending.

Today, a body was discovered by the Gloucester Township Police and a State Police K-9 unit around 11:47 a.m. near the Lakeview Apartments in the 500 block of Lower Landing Road, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office says.

Gloucester Township Police stress that an autopsy has not been performed nor has the body been identified.

The officers discovered the body while searching the area for Carol Reiff, a woman reported missing this weekend who lived at the apartment complex.

The cause of death or the identity of the deceased has not yet been determined by authorities, who are awaiting the results of an autopsy, likely to be held on Tuesday.

looking for Carol Reiff, age 59, who was last heard from on Thursday when she told family she was going to Manahawkin to visit other members of her family.

Her car was later found in front of her Lakeview Avenue apartment and she never made it to Manahawkin.

Reiff is described as a white female, 5 feet in height, and weighs 95 pounds with blue eyes and red hair.
