At least 350 bags of heroin were seized Thursday following a month-long investigation by the Atlantic City Police Department has led to the arrest of two suspects.

According to the Atlantic City Police Department, members of the Special Investigations Section executed a search warrant in the 800-block of North Maryland Avenue at approximately 10:51 a.m.

"As a result of the warrant, 350 bags of heroin were seized along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia," police said in a statement Thursday night.

As a result of the investigation, which was led by Detective William Warner, police arrested two suspects on various CDS related offenses. Michael Preston, 38, of Atlantic City and Atiya Hathaway, 31, also of Atlantic City, were taken into custody.

Preston was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and drug possession with intent to distribute while within 500 feet of a public park. His bail was set at $100,000.

Hathaway was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and drug possession with intent to distribute while within 500 feet of a public park. She was released on her own recognizance.
