Jonathan Lyle, 26, of the township, is charged with burglary, criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools, for the early Wednesday break-in at the Amboy Bank on Route 35.

Police said that the alarm reached headquarters at 2:42 AM. Responding officers found the glass front door smashed, then found Lyle inside, authorities said.

Lyle was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold, with bail set at $50,000. He was given no option for release on payment of 10 percent.
