According to a Facebook post by county Sheriff Shaun Golden's office, the assignment judge opted for evacuation after the threat was fielded, giving K-9 squads time to search the entire outer perimeter and the interior.

Court business resumed at 3 PM.

"The Monmouth County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Division is diligent about protecting those who work and visit the courthouse," Golden said in a statement.

"We take these threats seriously and fully respond to them for the safety of the public. In addition, our partners in law enforcement which include the Monmouth County."

"Prosecutor's Office and Freehold Borough Police are actively working to find out who is responsible for these potentially dangerous and disruptive threats."
